For some countries, the fact that the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association World Soccer Championships is holding its "Gay World Cup" may be no surprise. But to the mostly-conservative Latin American population, this is big. For the first time since it's inception in 1991, the Gay World Cup is going to be held in a Latin American City: Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Buenos Aires has become a very gay-friendly city, most recently announcing that they have legalized gay civil unions. The final game in the world cup is Saturday, Sept. 29 -- expect a party, song, dance and, of course, some protests.

3. Who cares? I guarantee if you put a team of the world's best straight players against a team of the world's best gay players, the straight team will win.
4. Cool. Now, for our next trick....we will play the next Gay World Cup in Jamaica, a place where gay people are routinely hunted down by large mobs and essentially lynched!
6. Why is it that all these groups scream about not being included but they all have their own little festivals or holidays or whatever. For instance this Gay World Cup is there a straight world cup NO, BET there is no White Entertainment Television, Gay day at Disney when is Straight day at Disney. What the heck is this all about is you wanna be included that means you live without calling attention to yourself!!!!

9. JohnH is absolutely right! Having a Gay World Cup is saying that no straight people are allowed to participate, that is prejudice! None of our soccer teams would say no to a gay player, if he was good enough to play! Until we stop letting these goups have their own events,days, holidays, we are always going to have problems. Everyone is Human, we need to have human events, days, holidays, sports. Nothing by race, preference, or gender.
