WHERE AM I AND WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?

Well, I came back home to L.A. to an incredibly busy schedule. Flew back on a Wednesday night and spent the entire day Thursday working in my office catching up with my team.Friday I had a book signing at the Disney store on the Disney/ABC lot in Burbank. Here is a picture of the store management and crew that assisted me that day.

I sold and signed a lot of my first book, Home Sense. For those of you that have not purchased one please go to the following link to purchase your copy today!! http://www.amazon.com/Home-Sense-Simple-Solutions-Enhance/dp/0061249769
After the book signing I headed over to my business partner, Steve Miller's home for a photo shoot with my team. This is one of the test shots of me. BIG HAIR! I hope it doesn't look that big in all of my pictures!!

Saturday I had two photo shoots for my up and coming second book with the working title of CELEBRATIONS! It is going to be an event-based book to be published by The Penguin Group next Fall, 2008.
Speaking of events...did you know I have a line of Quinceanera (Sweet 15) invitations? Here is an example of one of them!

If you have any friends or relatives looking for some fun and original invitations for a Quinceanera, please have them go to the following addresses online!! http://festividades.singleresource.com/

XOL:CREATIVE is developing an entire brand focused on this emerging market. To view our holding page go to www.eduardoxol.com <http://www.eduardoxol.com> and click on the 15 in the grey box in the lower left hand corner. Let us know your thoughts!!
Sunday I spent the day with my family and rested a bit because on Monday I had to make an appearance at the Starkey Hearing Foundation's event in Los Angeles. I was one of many celebrities there including Paige Hemmis from Extreme Makeover:Home Edition, Nicollette Sheridan of Desperate Housewives, and many more! Here is a picture of the group that was there!

We were there to give away more than 150 hearing aids to hearing impaired children in the Los Angeles area. Most of them were of Hispanic decent. I was very proud to be representing our community as I addressed the crowd in Spanish. I became involved with the organization a year and a half ago when I flew down to Central America to fit more than 400 children with hearing aids.

It is now one of the top charitable organizations that I am involved with. To learn more about the foundation go to this site. http://www.sotheworldmayhear.org/missions/index.php
Monday and Tuesday of the following week were filled with meetings and appointments...the new book, design, a haircut with Alon Shalom, dinners, meetings regarding ALUMI (www.alumimedia.com <http://www.alumimedia.com> ) and OH! XOL:CREATIVE is partnering up with a few other individuals in development for a made for TV movie! We have been pitching it to several studios and we know we will find the right home soon! Wish us luck!
Much of my time on Wednesday and Thursday was spent on the set of Thom Felicia's new show on The Style Network called DRESS MY NEST! Tom and my good friend and producer, Jen Faison, asked XOL:DESIGN to assist them with plant design on this project. Jason, my Director of Design and I had a great time! Here is a picture from the shoot. Not a great pix! The lighting was not favorable, but hey...can't take a good picture all of the time!

Europe 2007

As you can tell, it was a VERY busy week and so I've decided to postpone my next entry on EUROPE 2007 until my next blog. It's too good to rush through!

TRIBUTE TO HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Well, September is coming to an end and I wanted to finish the month honoring a few more Hispanic members of my Extreme Makeover:Home Edition family that work so hard to be positive role models.
Jeff Cruz is an Associate Producer on our show. His responsibilities include being a liaison to our builders and handling public relations. He travels around the country with us and is always a great help when he is on set. Of Puerto Rican decent, my friend is always one of the guys I like to hang out with and have a good time!

Marc Cruz is Jeff's cousin. Of Puerto Rican and Mexican decent, this is his first year on our show. He is a production assistant with a great future ahead of him. He is a warm and loving person who likes to greet everyone on the set with a bug hug. Abrazos to you Marc! Keep up the good work!

John Shearer is of Peruvian decent. He previously worked on the design producer team and has now moved up to the role of project manager. It is ultimately his responsibility to be sure that the house is actually done in seven days while we shoot our television show. He has been doing a great job of staying calm and making everyone feels secure that the house is being built in a manner of quality. He makes a VERY stressful job seem easy. Nice work!

Melissa Aguirre is a rare breed of woman! She is s camera assistant and one of the VERY few women in this field. She is a hard worker who takes her job very seriously but knows how to do it with a smile on her face. She is of Mexican decent and is a new member of our team. Welcome!

Esteban "Este" Munoz is a proud husband and father who works on the transportation unit of one of the teams on our show. This guy is the bomb! HE is of Mexican decent and he and I love talking about good old home cooked Mexican food when I'm riding around with him in the van. He is a mild mannered and good hearted guy who does his job with pride. Gracias Este!

A few other Hispanics that work on location with us include Ernie Paderez who is the head of security on our show. Besides Ernie, there are a handful of other Hispanics on the security team that I don't have names and pictures for, but I want you all to know that I respect your work and thank you for protecting us and keeping us safe. Marco Morales, one of the cooks in our catering department makes me a killer breakfast burrito whenever I want it! I don't have his picture either.
Back in our editing offices in L.A., we have Editor Steven Urrutia. His parents are both Mexican and he is a proud, first-generation Mexican-American and Wilfredo "Wil" Hernandez who's parents were both cuban immigrants. He grew up in Chicago and moved to LA about 9 years ago. He now works as an editor in the post department in Hollywood.
To anyone else I may have missed, know how proud I am to work with you and represent our community on this show. Keep in touch and let's keep on working hard like we all know Hispanics do!
Gracias!!
Eduardo
