Perder a un hijo es uno de los momentos más dolorosos que se pueden experimentar, aunque el extravío dure solo por unos minutos. Mi esposo y yo la pasamos mal el día que mi hijo de 4 años siguió por error los pasos de una pareja y fue separado de nosotros por una multitud en un juego de football colegial y eso pasó ya hace una década (lo encontramos rapidamente a unas 10 yardas detrás de nosotros luego de decirle a un policía que regala alcoholímetros que lo habíamos perdido. Una madre, preocupada por perder a sus hijos en un parque muy concurrido, inventó Tatuajes de Seguridad (Safety Tats), unos tatuajes temporales que pueden ser personalizados con un número de telefono para niños demasiado pequeños para que se aprendan su número de telefono. Los tatuajes usan pegamento médico FDA libre de látex, resistente al agua y estan disponibles en una gran variedad de estilos incluyendo unos que sirven para los niños que sufren de alergias o para un niño no verbal o autísta. Hay incluso un set especial para viajes de estudios así las escuelas pueden estar doblemente seguras de que los participantes en sus viajes pueden ser reunidos con facilidad.
En el website están disponibles 30 tatuajes por 20 dólares. Naturalmente eso pierde puntos frente a la técnica paterna de simplemente escribir el número de celular con marcador permanente en el estómago de un niño antes de salir porque esto sería gratis.
