Sammy Sosa aseguró que deseaba retirarse durante el Clásico Mundial de Béisbol del 2009, señalando que sería un honor jugar su último partido como pelotero representando a República Dominicana. Pero quién dijo que Sosa es uno de los mejores jardineros dominicanos. Para mí, si yo fuese Felipe Alou, quien dirigirá al equipo de quisqueya, le doy el no a Sammy.¿Crees que Sammy Sosa debería estar con Dominicana en el Clásico Mundial del 2009? ¿No hay más jardineros con más méritos que Sosa?
Sammy ni siquiera estuvo en el Clásico del 2006 porque sencillamente no tenía el nivel para ello, teniendo los dominicanos uno de los equipos más temibles a nivel ofensivo. Y por qué cree Sammy que tres años luego sí tiene el mérito para hacerlo.
Este año no ha conseguido equipo y no creo que esté en forma para afrontar una competencia como esta. Para completar, también está colocándole una presión inadecuada a Alou, porque conociendo la popularidad que tiene Sosa, será difícil que el veterano piloto le cierre la puerta al toletero derecho.

No tengo nada en contra de Sosa, creo que es uno de los jugadores más históricos y emblemáticos de República Dominicana. Pero creo que es mezquino querer retirarse en un evento como este, en donde le estará restando, con su presencia, oportunidad a su país de llevarse la competencia.

1. mi opinión personal es que Sosa le dio mucho al beisbol, es una insignia para su país es dificil para un pelotero y como persona que no sea considerado, ya que el desea reitirarse y jugar con su camiseta de su país Los jovenes de el tiene mucho que parender en lo deportivo ye n la parte humanitaria, fue el que valoro, considero al Carlos "cafe" Martinez cuando estaba en su parte mas critica de su vida. El pelotero es hombre, fisica y mentalmente, tambien persona y sobre todo ser humano. Puede tomar algun turno una figura es siempre un ejemplo asi sea en su retiro
